Description
Mendelssohn wrote Verleih’ uns Frieden in 1831 for mixed Choir and small Orchestra.

Part of the warm sound comes from the prominent part for the Celli and Bassoons. Large sections are polyphonic textures for two Celli and two Bassoons.

In this arrangement, made for SATB and Wind octet, the warmth comes from the Bassoons, Low Clarinets and French Horns. The Oboes join relatively late when the overal texture is raised to higher registers.
